Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 200/t d-o-d on 27 Feb’25, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices stood at INR 33,200/t ($381/t) exy. The market saw an increase in inquiries for both semi-finished and finished steel, driving active demand for scrap. As such, scrap suppliers adjusted their pricing in response to increased buying interest.
