Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market increased by INR 200/t d-o-d on 21 Aug’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 34,400/t ($410/t) exy. Moderate demand for semi-finished and finished steel was observed in the region during yesterday’s trading session. Combined with solid buying inquiries for scrap from Bhavnagar-based mills, this led suppliers to raise their offers today.
