Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 200/t d-o-d on 4 May’26, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 37,200/t ($392/t) exy. Trade activities in semi-finished and finished steel improved in the late hours of the previous trading session in the region. Additionally, decent buying inquiries for scrap prompted suppliers to increase their offers today.
