Heavy melting scrap (HMS 80:20) suppliers in Gujarat’s Alang market increased prices marginally by INR 100/t to INR 36,600/t exw today. Suppliers increased prices owing to improvement in market sentiments as well as due to shortage of material in the market amidst moderate enquiries from buyers for semis and finished steel. These factors may keep scrap prices supported in the short term.
