Melting scrap prices in Alang recovered slightly by INR 100/t today. SteelMint assesses HMS (80:20) prices at INR 39,100-39,200/t, while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 40,100-40,200/t. However, the conversion spread from melting scrap to semi-finished steel remained range-bound till yesterday’s trading session and hovers at around INR 5,600-5,800/t, as per SteelMint assessment.
