Ship-breaking melting scrap prices inched up by INR 200/t d-o-d in Gujarat’s Alang market on 14 Feb’24. SteelMint assessed opening prices of HMS (80:20) at INR 33,700/t ex-yard. Moderate trade activities for semi-finished steel were observed in the late hours of yesterday’s trading session in the region. Additionally, decent buying inquiries for scrap by the Bhavnagar-based IF steel mills prompted suppliers to improve their offers today.
