Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market fell by INR 300/t d-o-d on 28 May’24, according to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 38,000/t ($457/t) exy. Semi-finished steel prices fell by around INR 100-300/t in the region in yesterday’s trading session. This, coupled with moderate trade activities in scrap, prompted suppliers to reduce their offers today.
