Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market decreased by INR 200/t d-o-d on 9 Jul’24. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices stand at INR 34,800/t ($417/t) ex-yard. In yesterday’s trading session, semi-finished and finished steel saw need-based trade activity in the region. Coupled with the ongoing bid-offer disparity for scrap, this situation has led scrap suppliers to reduce their offers today.
