Melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market reached record highs. Prices were assessed at INR 40,500/t three days ago and subsequently rose by INR 300/t on a d-o-d basis. Heavy melting scrap (HMS 80:20) is assessed at INR 40,600-40,700/t, while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 41,600-41,700/t. Despite limited buying interest for semi-finished steel, scrap offers have improved today, SteelMint notes.
