Melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market contracted further by INR 700/t, as per sources. Heavy melting scrap (HMS 80:20) is assessed at INR 39,500/t, while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 40,500/t. However, trade participants expect that there is a chance of minor development on a d-o-d basis amidst tight supply as well as strong global trends, SteelMint notes.
