Melting scrap prices continued to move up on expectations of positive sentiments as transactions of semi-finished and finished steel recovered in most of the regions. Prices in the near term are expected to go up as previous bookings of semi-finished steel may take some time to get dispatched while nominal shortage in ferrous scrap market particularly in the northern and southern region may support the prices, trade participants reported to SteelMint.
