Shipbreaking melting scrap prices decreased sharply by INR 1,500/t d-o-d in Alang, Gujarat. SteelMint assesses HMS (80:20) prices at INR 47,000/t exy. Prices fell on slowing down of trade activities in steel billet and finished steel. Scrap buyers in the spot market turned inactive owing to high price levels, which compelled suppliers to reduce offers today.
