Melting scrap prices in Alang fell by INR 400/t today. HMS (80:20) prices are at INR 37,000/t while attachment scrap prices are assessed at INR 38,000/t. Semi-finished steel prices were rangebound and slow trading activity plus the lack of transactions in the spot market resulted in the lowering of scrap offers today but in few sizes suppliers make same offer due to moderate activity on Saturday, SteelMint notes.
