Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market decreased by INR 200/t d-o-d on 7 Apr’25. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices are at INR 34,800/t ($406/t) ex-yard. The drop in prices is attributed to subdued demand for both semi-finished and finished steel during the previous trading session, which, amid moderate scrap trading activity, prompted suppliers to adjust their offers downward.
