India: Melting scrap prices fall by INR 200/t d-o-d in Alang

Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang decreased by INR 200/t d-o-d on 30 Sep’25. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) was assessed at INR 30,500/t ($345/t) ex-yard. Sources indicated that although semi-finished steel prices declined by INR 200-300/t in the region during yesterday’s session, overall trade activity remained modest. Persistent liquidity constraints continued to hamper buying interest, prompting suppliers to reduce their offers today.
