India’s ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market decreased by INR 200/t d-o-d on 31 Dec’24. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices stood at INR 34,300/t ($401/t) ex-yard. Yesterday’s session saw moderate trade activity in semi-finished and finished steel, while Bhavnagar-based mills’ scrap demand remained at an average level. As a result, scrap suppliers reduced their offers today.
