Melting scrap prices witnessed a sharp hike of up to INR 800/t in Punjab. However, in other key markets prices rose in the range of INR 200-500/t following the rise in sponge iron prices and healthy transactions in semi-finished steel. Prices in the near term may increase slightly, particularly in the western region, trader sources informed SteelMint.
