Melting scrap prices jumped INR 800/t in the Alang market in Gujarat on 25 Jan’22 due to rising semi-finished steel prices. In Punjab, north India, prices rose by approximately INR 500/t on measured supply amid improvement in prices of semis, whereas in the southern region prices remained range-bound amid steady demand.
