Steel melting scrap prices witnessed an uptick in most markets on 24 Jan’22. Prices inched up INR 600/t in Punjab’s Mandi Gobindgarh, although other markets too saw prices rising by INR 100-300/t on positive steel market sentiment amid supply shortage at some locations. Prices in the near term may remain supported, particularly in markets in the western region, market participants informed SteelMint.
