Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market dropped INR 300/t d-o-d on 23 Aug’22. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 45,200/t exy. Lack of demand and buying enquries resulted from prices correcting sharply for semis and dull trading in finished steel. Thus, scrap suppliers reduced their offers slightly in the spot market, sources informed.
