Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market dropped by INR 200/t d-o-d on 6 Feb’26. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices stood at INR 33,300/t ($367/t) ex-yard. Trading activity in the semi-finished and finished steel segments slowed during the previous trading session. This, coupled with buyers’ resistance to higher scrap prices, prompted suppliers to reduce their offers today.
