Melting scrap prices witnessed a downward correction at most locations in the domestic markets except Punjab region on 27 May 2022. Scrap prices decreased due to correction in substitute materials like sponge iron despite improvement in semi-finished prices. In the northern markets, prices were slightly supported due to improvement in semi-finished demand amidst insufficient scrap supply, SteelMint notes.
