Melting scrap prices dropped by INR 100-600/t in most of the regions except the Southern region. In the Chennai market, prices moved up by INR 400/t due to availability concerns. Further, prices are expected to inch up in Chennai in the near-term owing to adequate conversion spread from scrap to billet, trade participants reported to SteelMint.
