Shipbreaking melting scrap prices declined further by INR 700/t d-o-d in Gujarat’s Alang market, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 35,800/t exy. A sharp correction was observed in semi-finished steel prices in yesterday’s trading session and there were limited buying inquiries for scrap owing to weak sentiments in the spot market. These factors prompted suppliers to reduce their offers.
