Shipbreaking melting scrap prices declined further by INR 500/t d-o-d in Gujarat’s Alang market, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 39,700/t exy. A sharp correction was observed in semi-finished steel prices and buying inquires for scrap remained muted owing to weak sentiments in the spot market, which forced suppliers in the region to reduce their offers.
