Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang decreased for the third consecutive day, with prices falling by INR 100/t d-o-d on 8 Apr’25. HMS (80:20) stands at INR 34,700/t ($404/t) ex-yard. There was a noticeable decline in demand for semi-finished and finished steel products in the region yesterday, which further slowed scrap trades. This prompted suppliers to revise down their offers today.
