India: Melting scrap prices decrease for third consecutive day in Alang

Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang decreased for the third consecutive day, with prices falling by INR 200/t d-o-d on 2 May’25. HMS (80:20) stands at INR 33,500/t ($399/t) ex-yard. There was a noticeable decline in demand for semi-finished and finished steel products in the region yesterday, which further slowed scrap trades. This prompted suppliers to revise down their offers today.
