Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market fell by INR 700/t d-o-d on 9 Jan’26. HMS (80:20) prices stood at INR 31,500/t ($350/t) exy. Trade activity in both semi-finished and finished steel remained sluggish during the previous trading session, with prices falling by INR 500-600/t. Additionally, weak scrap buying interest from local consumers prompted suppliers to lower their offers today.
