Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market decreased by INR 500/t d-o-d on 20 Jan’26. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices stand at INR 33,000/t ($363/t) ex-yard. Semi and finished steel prices started to soften during the latter half of the previous trading session. This, along with weak demand for scrap at higher offer levels, prompted suppliers to revise their prices downward.
