Shipbreaking melting scrap prices fell by INR 500/t in Gujarat’s Alang market, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 46,700/t exy. Prices edged down on lower bids and lower transaction volumes in semis and finished steel. Thus, scrap suppliers reduced their offers in the spot market owing to weak sentiments.
