Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang declined by INR 300/t d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 49,500/t exy. Scrap prices decreased due to limited trading activities in semi-finished steel. Besides, slow demand for scrap by the mills based in Bhavnagar due to steep prices prompted suppliers to lower offers today.
