India’s medium-carbon silico manganese (Mn: 53%, Si: 20%, C: 0.5% max) prices soared by INR 1,100/t ($13/t) w-o-w to INR 80,900/t ($949/t) exw-Durgapur on 26 Dec’24. Indicative offers were at INR 81,000-81,500/t ($950-956/t), while trades of around 1,120 t took place at INR 80,000-81,000/t ($938-950/t). The rise in prices can be attributed to a lift in domestic demand. Meanwhile, export demand remained dull amid cautious market sentiments.
