Coal India subsidiary Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL) has revised the surface transportation charge (STC) it imposes on customers for transporting coal from mines to loading points. The STC is revised every six months. As part of the latest revision, the charges for distance slabs between 3 and 10 km and 10 and 20 km were increased by INR 23/t and INR 10/t, respectively. However, the charge for 0-3 km was kept unchanged at INR 55/t.
