India: Maruti extends maintenance shutdown amid Covid spike

Maruti Suzuki India Limited(MSIL),has announced an extension of its annual maintenance shutdown by an additional week till 16th May ’21 across its manufacturing facilities in the country, SteelMint learned from BSE regulatory filing. The Company took this decision given the current COVID-19 situation in the country. However, some activities will continue at the plants. Maruti’s production in the month of April ’21 stood at 159,955 units, recording a 7% drop against 172,433 units produced in March ’21.
