According to the Indian customs, the Manganese Ore imports have declined by 23% on M-o-M basis.
India imported 0.2 MnT in Sep’18 against 0.26 MnT in Aug’18. Moreover, on yearly basis, Indian Manganese Ore imports recorded a substantial decrease of 36% as it was 0.31 MnT in Sep’17.
The fall in Manganese Ore imports by India can be attributed to the depreciated INR vis-à-vis the USD which discouraged the buyers from importing.
South Africa was the largest exporter of Manganese Ore to India at 0.09 MnT recording a decline of 18% M-o-M in Sep’18, followed by Australia and Gabon at 0.05 MnT and 0.02 MnT respectively.
