Indian manganese alloys are not offering silico manganese and ferro manganese as of today as they are yet to decide on the prices. Most producers believe offer prices to go on rising in the coming week as cost of production has increased due to rising manganese ore prices in the market.
Currently, there are no offers for imported manganese ore to the Indian market mainly because most international miners prefer to sell to China when Chinese demand is strong. Also, Manganese Ore India (MOIL), has increased prices of various grades by around 15-25% for Sept’16. MOIL generally fixes its prices on quarterly basis, but falling import of manganese ore and rising ferro alloy prices in domestic market, has prompted the miner to increase its offer a month earlier.
Last heard traded price for silico manganese 60-14 stood at INR 48,000 MT (Ex-Durgapur) and INR 50,000 (Ex-Raipur) and ferro manganese 70% min stood at INR 50,000/MT (Ex-Durgapur) and INR 51,000/MT (Ex-Raipur).
