- ERW pipe prices increase by INR 2,600/t m-o-m
- Weak demand persists amid liquidity constraints
A leading manufacturer in Indian ERW pipe specialised in hot-rolled coil (HRC) based products, has increased list prices of its base grade pipes (25-125 NB, 2.2-6 mm) by INR 2500/tonne (t) for mid-February 2026 against early-February sales, sources informed BigMint.
After revision, list prices are at INR 56,500/t ($624/t) exy-Raipur, INR 58,500/t ($646/t) exy-Pune and INR 58,500/t ($646/t) exy-Banglore, excluding 18% GST. These prices are effective from 16 February 2026.
Market update
The monthly average prices of ERW pipes at distributor-level in Raipur rose by INR 2,600/t ($29/t) m-o-m to INR 58,250/t ($642/t) in February as compared to INR 55,650/t ($614/t) in January.
Market demand for ERW pipes remained sluggish during the month, with overall trading activity stayed slow due to price hikes. Moreover, market participants informed BigMint that “ongoing financial constraints in the market continued to keep demand on the weaker side”. Meanwhile, a price increase announced by a leading producer has kept the trade market firm and supported sentiment.
Trade-level HRC prices rise m-o-m
The trade level HRC (2.5-8mm / CTL, IS2062, Gr E250 Br) exy-Mumbai increased by INR 1,845/t ($20/t) to INR 53,833/t ($594/t) in February compared to INR 51,988/t ($574/t) in January.
Indian HRC trade prices moved on an upward path after mills announced fresh price hikes in early-February due to increased prices of raw materials such as coking coal and tight supply in the market. Additionally, market sentiments were positive reflecting a steady demand.
Outlook
ERW pipe prices are expected to sustain their firm trajectory, underpinned by elevated HRC input costs and disciplined supply dynamics. However, muted end-user demand and persistent liquidity constraints across the trade channel may cap volume expansion and temper near-term market momentum.
