India: Maa Kudargarhi gets environment clearance for alumina refinery

  • Maa Kudargarhi, located in Chiranga village, Surguja district, Chhattisgarh, has gotten the environmental clearance to set up a greenfield alumina refinery plant of 1.5 lakh tonnes per year capacity.
  • The required raw material (bauxite) for the proposed project is about 4-5 lakh tonnes and would be sourced from mines located at Mainpat area.
  • Currently, the company owns a rolling mill in Raipur with an annual capacity of 3.6 lakh tonnes of rebar and wire rods.
