Lesser projects and falling profit margin are building pressure on Structure manufacturers. They are focusing more on maintaining production & inventory level.
According to market players, Structure demand is majorly dependent on big projects, from both government & private sector. At present, demand from both the sectors is dim as general elections are in progress.
A Maharashtra based manufacturer said, “We used to supply 60-70% of our total production for projects and bulk purchaser.”
Continue fluctuation in raw material prices is one of the major factors for uncertain market trend. However, liquidity crunch and falling profit margin are building more pressure on sellers.
Market participant stated that buying is slightly lowered from past week, followed by price fall. Central India based brands such as Mahamaya & MSP have offered I-Beam 200 mm at INR 35,000/MT (Ex-Raipur; payment advance). The plants are producing material as per the demand and avoid stocking.
City-wise Price fall during Week’s Time
- Durgapur: INR 400-500/MT
- Raipur: INR 300-400/MT
- Ghaziabad: INR 100-200/MT
Mumbai & Ahmedabad offers are unchanged this week on stable demand.
