Sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%, mix material) prices in Odisha’s Rourkela dropped by INR 450/t on 27 Aug’21 due to weak demand and falling billet prices. SteelMint’s price assessment for sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%, mix material) stand at INR 30,800/t ($417/t) and about 1,000 t of C-DRI deals were confirmed at INR 30,800-31,000/t exw-Rourkela. Most of the mill owners continue to hold sales and are clearing old bookings. However, selling pressure remains with them and they are waiting for OMC iron ore prices.
