- DGTR begins mid-term review of anti-dumping duties
- Focus on pipes with diameter under 6 inches
India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has initiated a mid-term review of the anti-dumping duties on stainless steel seamless tubes and pipes imported from China. The review, announced on June 26, 2025, focuses on products with a nominal diameter not exceeding 6 inches, classified under Indian customs code 7304.
India originally imposed these duties in December 2022 for five years, following findings that Chinese imports were harming the domestic industry.
Several Chinese producers were exempted from the duty. The current review aims to determine whether significant changes in import trends, market conditions, or injury to the domestic industry justify modifying, continuing, or revoking the duties.
Indian producers requested this review, citing shifts in the market and increased competition from Chinese imports. All stakeholders, including domestic manufacturers, importers, and exporters, are invited to submit evidence and participate in the investigation.
The outcome could impact the future of anti-dumping measures on these products, potentially altering the competitive landscape for stainless steel seamless tubes in India.
