India: Kolkata Port anchors first ever capesize vessel

Kolkata’s Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port has brought in its very first cape vessel consignment containing 66,000 t thermal coal for Nepal, as per latest reports. So far, the port was capable of anchoring only panamax and supramax vessels. The M.V Lake D vessel floated from Australia and arrived at the Sagar Anchorage via Visakhapatnam. The lighterage operations were done via floating cranes.
