Southern India-based pellet maker – KIOCL has concluded an export deal for pellets (Fe 63.5% and 2-2.1% Al) via a tender process. The deal was heard to be concluded at around $205/t FoB for a quantity of around 110,000t, sources have confirmed SteelMint. The company’s last tender held towards the beginning of Mar’21 was heard to be concluded at $192/t FoB. Pellet export prices have remained supported on the Chinese govt adopted measures to cut air pollution. The company operates a 3.5 mn t pa pellet plant in Mangalore, Karnataka, India, and recorded pellet production of 2.21 mn t in FY’21.
