State-owned KIOCL has announced that operations at the company’s pellet plant in Mangalore have been temporarily suspended as they are no longer viable after the imposition of export duty on pellets. The government announced 45% duty on iron ore pellet exports on 22 May’22. KIOCL’s pellet plant in Karnataka’s Mangalore has a capacity of 3.5 mnt/year.
