JSW Steel’s purchases from NMDC Karnataka remains stable, increases from private mines.
Monthly iron ore sales volume in Karnataka e-auctions have increased by 36% M-o-M in May’18. The total allotted quantity of iron ore stood at 1.77 MnT in May’18 compared to 1.3 MnT in Apr’18.
NMDC has raised prices in Karnataka e-auctions recently on 25th May’18. NMDC Kumaraswamy has increased iron ore base prices around INR 50/MT in fines and around INR 100/MT in lump prices.
Miner has increased Lumps(Fe 62%) base price around INR100/MT to INR 3,085/MT (basic) against last assessment INR 2,993/MT, similarly, in Fe 62% fines prices have increased by around INR 50/MT to INR 2800/MT (basic) against last assessment INR 2756/MT(Prices mentioned are basic).
NMDC iron ore sales increased by 5% in May’18- NMDC’s iron ore sales increased by 5% M-o-M to 0.20 MnT in May’18 compared to 0.19 MnT in Apr’18. NMDC Kumarswamy recorded an increase of 18% in its sales volume to 0.13 MnT in May’18 compared to 0.11 MnT in Apr’18 while sales from NMDC Donimalai mines has decreased this month also by 13% to 0.07MnT in May’18 compared to 0.08 MnT in Apr’18.
JSW Steel’s iron ore sourcing from Karnataka increased sharply again by 66% in May’18 –JSW Steel’s iron ore purchases from Karnataka e-auctions stood at 1.03 MnT inMay’18 increased significantly by 66% M-o-M compared to 0.62MnT in Apr’18. Out of 1.03MnT iron ore sourced by JSW, NMDC supplied 0.06MnT in line with Apr’18.
JSW Steel’s sourcing from private mines increased sharply from 0.56 MnT in Apr’18 to 0.97 MnT in May’18. Vedanta turned out to be the largest iron ore supplier to JSW steel in May’18 with 0.26 MnT followed by Vyasankere Iron Ore Mines (0.20 MnT), Veerabhadrappa Sangappa & Company (0.18 MnT) and others (0.33MnT).
