India: Karnataka Govt Invites Bids for 8 Iron Ore Blocks

Department of Mines and Geology (Govt. of Karnataka) has floated the tender to grant 08 different Iron ore blocks in Karnataka.

Interested and Eligible bidders can participate in bidding only after purchasing of tender document on payment of Rs. 200,000 per mineral block.

Prior to this, govt of Karnataka had invited bids for grant of iron ore mining lease for 9 ‘C’ category mine blocks auctions in Aug’17 via 2nd phase of auctions. Since less than 3 bids were received for all the blocks, pursuant to the clause of Mineral Auction Rules, 2015 the auction process for the said 9 ‘C’ category iron ore blocks was annulled.

In 1st phase of auctions, out of 7 “C” category iron ore mine blocks that witnessed aggressive bidding from the participants in Oct’16, JSW Steel bagged five iron ore mines namely – Rama Rao Paol, Hothur Traders, VS Lad & Sons and two leases of Tungabhadra Minerals.

For the remaining two blocks namely Lakshmi Narayana Mining Company and Karthikeyas Manganese, MSPL was chosen the preferred bidder.

Due Dates:
The last date for sale of Tender Document from MSTC website is 12 Mar’18.
The due date for submission of technical bids is 21 Mar’18.
