The government of Karnataka’s recent notification declared JSW Steel as the preferred bidder for Jaisinghpura South Iron Ore Block which was held on 24 March, 2023. The final price offer for the mine is 145.80%.
Details of block
The Jaisinghpura South Block is situated in Bellary and is spread across a total area of 297.38 Ha, out of which 80.49 Ha is mineralised area and 216.89 Ha is non-mineralised area.
The mine has total geological resources of 32.08 million tonnes (mnt) of iron ore of various grades. Details are as follows:
- Massive iron ore 10.12 mnt with an average grade of Fe68.80%.
- Laminated iron ore 20.92 mnt with an average grade of Fe58.20%.
- Lateritic iron ore 0.22 mnt with an average grade of Fe48.67%.
- Siliceous iron ore 0.82 mnt with an average grade of Fe43.77%.
SteelMint reported earlier that around 25 companies had qualified for the recent round of mine auctions in Karnataka.
