India: JSW Increased Long Steel Production by 28% M-o-M in Aug’17

JSW Steel – India’s largest steel maker has recorded an increase of 5% M-o-M in its crude steel output from 1.278 MnT in Jul’17 to 1.337 MnT in Aug’17.

However on yearly premises, company’s crude steel output has witnessed decline of 1%.

Long steel output up 28% M-o-M in Aug’17 – JSW Steel’s long steel production stood at 0.278 MnT in Aug’17 compared to 0.217 MnT in Jul’17, up 10.8% Y-o-Y. As per sources, the company increased its long steel prices by INR 1,000/MT for Aug’17 deliveries.

Flat steel production increased marginally in Aug’17 – JSW Steel’s flat steel output was recorded at 0.979 MnT in Aug’17 against 0.974 MnT in Jul’17, up 0.5%. However on yearly premises, it has moved up by 1%. As per sources the company hiked flat steel prices up to INR 1,500/MT in Aug’17.

JSW Steel is India’s largest steel maker in terms of production and achieved 26% Y-o-Y growth in its crude steel output in FY17 with output of 15.8 MnT. The steel maker achieved 100% production guidance laid in the last fiscal. The company has three plants located in Vijayanagar, Dolvi and Salem and has a total crude steel making capacity of 18 MnT pa.
