JSW Steel- India’s largest private steel producer has released its monthly crude steel output today for Jan’19. Company’s crude steel and flat steel output witnessed increase, however long steel output reported decline in Jan’19 against Dec’18.
Crude Steel production increased in Jan’19- JSW Steel’s crude steel output stood at 1.45 MnT in Jan’19 reported increase of 4% on monthly basis as compared to 1.4 MnT in Dec’18.
Whereas on yearly basis production inched down by 1% in Jan’19 as compared with 1.46 MnT in Jan’18.
Company’s Flat Steel output rose by 5% in Jan’19- JSW flat steel output stood 1.04 MnT in Jan’19,moved up 5% against 0.99 MnT in Dec’18. On yearly basis the same rose by 3% in Jan’19 against 1.01 MnT in Jan’18.
Indian steel mills rolled over flat steel prices for Jan, however they were giving discounts to escalate buying. Also HRC prices in domestic market recorded one year low in traders market over cheaper imports.
Company’s Long Steel output decline in Jan’19- Company’s long steel output moved down by 3% at 0.34 MnT in Jan’19 as compared to 0.35 MnT in the month of Dec’18. Similiarly on yearly basis the same reported decline of 6% in Jan’19 compared to 0.36 MnT in Jan’18.
Large scale producers were giving decent discounts of INR 1,000-1,500/MT to improve trade volumes & lower inventory levels and to reduce selling pressure.
