India: JSPL posts rise in production, sales y-o-y in May

Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) has posted a growth in production and sales y-o-y in May despite the challenges and issues related to rake availability.

• Crude steel production was up marginally by 1% y-o-y to 0.698 mnt in May, versus 0.69 mnt in the year ago period.
• Steel sales rose 5% y-o-y to 0.52 mnt compared with 0.49 mnt in May’21.
• Exports accounted for 21% of the total sales in May.
